The 'TV Guide' Emmy afterparty scored quite the coup when, following John Legend's nearly hour-long performance -- which included covers of the Beatles and Sly Stone -- Kanye West came out and set Hollywood off with his own four-song set.

Opening with 'Stronger,' and sporting his now signature shades, West was heavy with impact, prompting a room full of television celebrities and industry folk clad in gowns, tuxes and suits to wave their cell phones in the air and sing along with every word -- a rare feat at any Hollywood party.

The rapper, who was joined on stage by Legend for 'Gold Digger,' addressed the sales of his new album, 'Graduation' a couple of times, saying that its first day out compared with the top-selling debut week of the year. He also addressed the perception of hip-hop being on the decline, taking some credit -- along with 50 Cent -- for lifting it back up. "By me and 50 coming out the same day," he said, "we did something."
