After looking like he had dodged trouble last month, Kanye West has found out today that he will have to battle criminal charges in his alleged attack of a photographer earlier this summer.Kanye has been charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft. If convicted of the charges, he faces one year in county jail (although it isn't very likely that he would serve a full year in jail). Both of those charges are only misdemeanors; the district attorney announced in August that they will not be pursuing felony charges against Kanye.

This incident took place at LAX on July 19, when the alleged victim attempted to ask Kanye questions. After initially being warned by Kanye not to talk any further, the photographer asked another question, triggering the rapper's outburst. Kanye snatched the camera from the photographer's hands and the resulting scuffle resulted in the cameraman falling to the ground.

This was the second incident to take place between Kanye and the paparazzi this summer. The first incident found Kanye telling the offending photographer to "never talk again." However, Kanye made no attempt at snatching the man's recording device from out of his hands.

Kanye will be arraigned on these charges on Oct. 10.
