Rap supergroup Slaughterhouse hasn’t released a full-length project since 2012 with their debut album, Welcome to: Our House. Fans have been waiting for a follow-up but it looks as if that’s not going to happen anytime soon.

On Episode 98 of I’ll Name This Podcast Later (listen above), host and Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden announced that his group have recorded an album, but it will never be released.

"Breaking news. For all of you people who keep wanting a music update, here it is: that Slaughterhouse project, you’re not getting it. Sorry," he told his listeners (quotes via XXL). "It’s some s--- on there. Unfortunately, the best Joell verse that I have ever heard in my entire life is on this album that y’all are never gonna hear. That’s f---ed up.”

While Budden doesn’t explain why the Slaughterhouse album is being shelved, he does say that he wanted to grab a few recorded songs from the album for his own use. However, Budden added that the LP is very dark.

“The entire group was in such a dark space when we recorded all of that music. It’s a very dark, depressing...I don’t even want to hear any of that s---," he said. "I don’t even rap like that, I don’t want to rap like that. We would have to record all new verses to put that album out. But in the meantime, boy is there some s--- on that album."

Since releasing Welcome To: Our House, Slaughterhouse members Budden, Royce da 5'9", Kxng Crooked and Joell Ortiz went on to have successful solo careers. Most notably, Royce teaming up with DJ Premier for the PRhyme project and Budden teaming up araabMUZIK with for his latest album, Rage & The Machine.
