Jennifer Hudson plays a drug-addicted mother in 'The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete,' out today (Oct. 11) in select theaters. This means it's time to promote, and the songstress' attempt to do so last night (Oct. 10) on 'Chelsea Lately' went haywire because of a wardrobe malfunction.

The zipper on the front of Hudson's leather pencil skirt popped when she sat down to talk with host Chelsea Handler, causing the two to frantically attempt to cover up the mishap. Handler was able to fix the zipper, but not after a few shouts of "Oh my God" and "Don't break the zipper." It's unintentional, but it's extra publicity regardless.

The 'I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)’ songstress then went on to talk about playing the role of a drug addict despite never using drugs or alcohol. She was told by a former addict that a high is like having an orgasm, to which Hudson said, "I could do that part. I could fake that."

So far 'The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete' has received positive reviews from the New York Post, New York Times and New York Daily News, and it's currently rated at 86 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes reviews aggregation site.

Hudson will also star alongside Nas, Mary J. Blige and more in 'Black Nativity.' The film arrives Nov. 27.
