Happy Birthday, The-Dream!
Happy Birthday to The-Dream! The hitmaking songwriter/producer/artist turns 40 years old today (Sept. 20).
The-Dream is one of the more accomplished individuals in the biz. He wrote Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" and Rihanna's "Umbrella," then became a star in his own right with hits like "Falsetto" and "Walkin' On The Moon."
After writing songs for everybody from B2K to Britney Spears, the North Carolina native delivered the hit albums Love Hate, Love Vs. Money and Love King (which included "Yamaha," perhaps his most overt Prince reference) some of R&B's finest albums of the past 10 years.
The-Dream's solo output was still great after Love King, but he hasn't released an official album since 2013s IV Play. But he's dropped several EPs and the visual album Genesis in 2016, as well as the mixtape Love You to Death that same year.
And the star just welcomed his eighth child into the world back in August--a baby girl named Maverick. He shared the news on Instagram.
“She’s finally here,” he wrote. “Happy Birthday, Maverick. It’s your day. #Blessing. Also, she’s living proof IUDs might not work. Meant to be.”
