The hyphy wave has cooled down a bit in the latter half of 2015 (although the West Coast hip-hop movement is still going strong), but Iamsu!'s name is pretty far from being forgotten. The HBK Gang leader, born Sudan Williams, turns 26 years old today (Nov. 16).

Iamsu! had no problem making people bounce when he blew up around 2012. The Richmond, Calif. native and Problem were some of the few who took Bay Area's hyphy wave to a national scale with their series of mixtapes. Iamsu!'s Kilt II especially got a good amount of hype. It also helped that he had a collabo like "Gas Pedal" with Sage the Gemini, which became a sleeper hit in 2013.

After a bit of delay, Iamsu! released his debut album, Sincerely Yours, last year. The project was both a statement and a homage to the Bay Area featuring legends E-40 and Too $hort on the song "T.W.D.Y."

Kehlani is HBK's most popular artist now, but Iamsu! is still putting in work. His most recent mixtape, All Eyes on Me, arrived in February and he's apparently working on Kilt III.
