Giuseppe Zanotti Talks Designing With ‘Longtime Friend’ Kanye West

Kanye West has been working hard to be taken seriously in the fashion world. While we're sure his "It's been like that for a minute, Hedi Slimane" rant didn't give him any brownie points, designer Giuseppe Zanotti is a fan of his work.

The famed shoe designer talks about working with 'Ye in a piece he wrote for Style.com titled "Kicking It With Kanye: On Designing Shoes Alongside Yeezy." "Kanye West and I are longtime friends and have been collaborating for years. As artists, we naturally share a similar creative process as well as a mutual passion for fashion and music," says Zanotti.

He remembers designing a shoe that Kim Kardashian wore back in 2012, as well as the 'Cruel Summer' sandals which accompanied 'Ye's album of the same name.

"He taught me something, I taught him something. I showed him my archives, and he sang something for me and my team," the Italian shoemaker reveals. "It was good synergy, exchange of sensation, and love."

Zanotti even attended KimYe's wedding this year.
