Genra Is Serving Up Dancehall For the Summer with ‘Be Mine (Gyal)’
Dancehall newcomer, Genra, is heating things up for the summer with his latest song, "Be Mine (Gyal)."
"With every song, he wants you to fall in love with music. He wants you to lose yourself," read a press statement with the song. And Genra does just that as he sings "I'll be yours if you're mine." Swoon.
The vibes of the love song are similar to Rihanna's "Work," as Genra repeats words over a simple riddum interlaced with drums, electronic sounds and the Jamaican artist's smooth voice serenading the listener.
With over 60,000 plays on Soundcloud since its release last week. Genra is likely to have all the jawns whining to this one. And it seems that he has more music in store. "Been putting in long long hours at the studio. Can't wait to share more of this new music with you all," read an Instagram post by Genra.
It's unclear whether all this new music will lead up to an album but we're excited to hear more from Genra, who resides in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Summer time is definitely upon us. Get into "Be Mine (Gyal)" below.
