Game landed himself in the hospital late Thursday night (Jan. 13) after smashing a guitar while filming the music video for 'Purp & Yellow,' his rendition of Wiz Khalifa's chart-climbing tune 'Black and Yellow.'

On set in downtown Los Angeles, the Compton rapper slammed a guitar to the floor in a rock-inspired stunt during a scene for the video, which is set to feature Snoop Dogg and DJ Skee, as well as Los Angeles Lakers basketball players Ron Artest and Matt Barnes.

A piece of the stringed instrument slipped into Game's finger, causing a laceration and an abundance of blood to follow, according to TMZ. The rhymer, born Jayceon Taylor, rushed to the hospital where he received several stitches to mend the wound.

Several hours after the ordeal, Game took to Twitter to share news of the incident.

"So this was my night," he tweeted. "Shot purp & yellow video wit @snoopdogg @djskee @mattbarnes & @ronartest http://twitpic.com/3pxrb5.
