G-Unit is still a thing heading into the later months of 2014. The lauded rap crew just released a new EP, 'The Beauty of Independence,' and are on the way to debuting their first album since 2008's 'TOS,' so 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Yony Yayo and Kidd Kidd have been busy doing the press rounds as a result.

The members are presumably busy men and can't all be present all the time, however. 50 Cent and Young Buck, the two who've been at the forefront of the revival, was absent for the crew's recent visit to Baltimore's 92 Q radio station.

They were unfortunate absences because the radio station played one of New York hip-hop's greatest beats: 'N.Y. State of Mind.' Kidd Kidd, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo do well enough to make listeners forget about the missing members. Kidd Kidd arguably walks away with the best verse.

"Sorry mom, I never made it to the honor roll / But I see you're looking good in your designer clothes," he rhymes.

Check out the freestyle above. There should be more from G-Unit -- including 50 Cent and Young Buck -- on the way.
