Did Nicki Minaj Diss Remy Ma? ‘One Platinum Plaque, Album Flopped’
Nicki Minaj has been on a roll this week with two major features: Jason Derulo’s “Swalla” and Gucci Mane’s “Make Love.” On both of those songs the Queen Barbz delivers acidic bars at her detractors.
However, folks on Twitter think Nicki is aiming her lyrical darts at Remy Ma. The Bronx rapper may have shot her first lyrical salvo at Nicki on Phresher’s “Wait a Minute” remix, where she rhymed, “Get rid of those fake breasts / And put a vest on this bitch chest." She later added, “That ghostwriter 'bout to call her / That lifeline getting shorter.”
But Remy Ma has gone on record stating that she doesn’t do subliminals and if she did have a problem with a rapper, she'll mention names.
Now if you listen to Nicki’s verses on “Make Love” and “Swalla,” it sounds like she taking lyrical shots at the "All the Way Up" rapper. But, let’s be honest, those heated bars could be for anybody who tries to diss the Queen Barbz.
On “Make Love,” Nicki rhymes appeared to be for Remy. On her verse, she raps, “I’m the iPhone, you the Nokia / Everybody know you jealous, bitch it’s so clear" and “Oh you the qu-e-e-the queen of this here? / One platinum plaque, album flopped, bitch, where?”
Remy Ma and Fat Joe’s Grammy-nominated song “All the Way Up” was certified platinum last August and the sales of their collaborative album, Plata O Plomo, are brisk but not stellar.
