Eclectic songstress Erykah Badu treated an intimate crowd to new music off her upcoming album Thursday night, and managed to take it one step further by announcing its title at a private listening session at Electric Lady Studios in New York. The singer told the group that she has decided to dub the album 'New America.' The long-awaited follow-up to 2003's 'Worldwide Underground' features Badu's soft, silky voice over a slew of bass-heavy beats and -- her usual -- introspective lyrics.

The singer-songwriter also performed a new, untitled, specially-written song in a guest appearance on the WB sitcom 'Girlfriends.' 'New AmErykah' is slated for a February release.
