Last week, Erykah Badu released a preview of her new song “Phone Down” but she mysteriously deleted the snippet from the internet much to the chagrin of her fans. Now the veteran R&B songstress delivers the full version of the tune and it’s off the hook.

"PHONE DOWN...official leak this ones for Aubrey... from forthcoming MIXTAPE : BUT YOU CAINT USE MY PHONE {DROPS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND} ITUNES LOVE, ms. badu," she tweeted.

Over a sumptuous, head-nodding groove and soft piano stabs, Badu repeatedly tells her muse - hey Aubrey Graham! - that she has what it takes to make him put the phone down and concentrate on her.

"I can make you put your phone down / As we cruise through the city, I can make you put your phone down / You ain't gonna text no one when you wit me, I can make you put your phone down / So you can show me attention / And I'll cut mine off too / Boy that'll help when I listen," she sings.

"Phone Down" will appear on Badu's upcoming mixtape, You Cain’t Use My Phone, which arrives on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26).

In an interview with The FADER, Badu said the mixtape was inspired by Drake's chart-topping hit "Hotline Bling" and that every song on the project is phone-related.

“I’m in love with this mixtape, it feels good. I think it’s a whole new frequency for the planet and I just wanted to do it because it’s inspiring me to write my new album -- it’s kind of like the buffer in between,” she said. “I would like to describe it as a creative process and I got some really good surprises for you guys. I cannot wait until the end of the month, it will be on iTunes at the end of the month. But along the way, I’m going to drop some freebies and some underground s--- just so the people can have something to listen to.”

We can hardly wait.
