DMX to Cough Up $240,000 for FBI Impersonation
Even though rapper DMX has not been released from prison, his legal troubles continue to mount. A judge in Weschester County, New York, ruled that X will pay $240,000 to the man he pulled over in 2005, while impersonating an FBI agent.
Using a fake police siren, X pulled Sergei Priporin and his family over at New York's JFK International Airport. He then attempted to remove Priporin from his vehicle while his wife and child were in the car.
The Yonkers born rapper was arrested while trying to flee the scene before crashing through an airport exit gate. He later claimed that he pulled the family over because they were making him late for a flight. To make matters worse X, born Earl Simmons, was in possession of crack cocaine, diazepam, oxycodone, and a billy club.

Priporin filed a $4 million suit against X, citing assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Rich Corde, X's lawyer, maintains that his client felt that his actions were warranted. "Mr. Simmons still feels justified in pulling them over when they didn't get out of his way. He's not apologizing for that," he said. "He still believes the gentleman driving should have gotten out of his way. At the same time, he plead guilty to the charges and therefore paid for his behavior."
In what has become a public downward spiral, the 39-year-old has gone on to find himself in several other legal altercations. He was recently apprehended in Miami after alluding authorities for months causing them to put out a $5,000 reward for his capture.
Currently serving a 90-day sentence at Tent City Jail in Arizona, X was re-booked on assault charges in February for throwing a food tray at a correctional officer.
According to his publicist, X is getting his career back in order and will appear in a new film once he completes his sentence. He will be released from custody May 19.
