DMC Collaborated With DJ Premier on the New York Knicks’ 2016-17 Anthem
We are weeks away from the start of the 2016-2017 basketball season and some exciting news have surfaced. Run-DMC member DMC has teamed up with DJ Premier to create a new anthem for the New York Knicks.
The rap veteran revealed the news during his interview with Complex. "Me and DJ Premier just did the new Knicks anthem. And it’s New York City. It ain’t no EDM, it ain’t no pop music," DMC stated.
"That’s all I gotta say. It’s real tough," he attended. "It was my first time working with DJ Premier. It’s the New York Knicks new anthem. It’s hard."
DMC, who is a native of Queens, N.Y., also secured an endorsement deal with sports apparel company Fanatics. The Run-DMC-inspired tees features the group's six-letter logo is transformed to represent basketball teams in the NBA.
There's no word on when the song will be release, but it should be premiering around the same type as the New York Knicks' season opener at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 29 against the Memphis Grizzlies.
DMC also predicts that the New York Knicks will bring home an NBA Championship in seven years.
