At this point, the Nas-DJ Premier album might as well exist in rap folklore alongside Dr. Dre's 'Detox' and Jay Electronica's 'Act II: Patents Of Nobility (The Turn).' But after years of speculation -- two since their last collaboration, 2011's 'Regeneration' -- the legendary producer has given new hope to hip-hop heads by confirming the project (well, sorta).

During an interview with Where's My 40 Acres? at last weekend's A3C Hip-Hop Festival, Premo assured fans, "it's coming," nodding his head with clarity. Don't expect the record anytime soon, though; the beatsmith suggested that it'll likely arrive after Nas' next studio album when his contract with Def Jam will be up.

You probably shouldn't hold your breath for that album, either. We're still waiting for Mr. Jones to follow up on the promise he made back in April and reveal the title to his next LP. It's hard out here for a true school head.
