Dipset Kick Off Reunion Tour Next Week
After years of inter-squad dissension, The Diplomats -- better known as Dipset -- finally reunited in April of 2010, and now Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey have announced that they will embark on The Reunion tour, beginning next week.
The Dips began publicly feuding in 2007, when Cam'ron and Jones became embroiled in a dispute over money, and grew further estranged when Cam accused former protege Juelz of a codeine syrup dependency. By 2009, Cam announced that any hope of a Dipset reunion was "a wrap," yet in April of 2010, things got "back on track," when Jimmy and Cam reconciled on a call with Hot 97's Miss Info, and reunited on stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Nov. 26.
The tour kicks off at the Congress Theater in Chicago on Thursday, March 17, and continues across the country, making stops in Minneapolis, Buffalo, Philly, Albany, NYC, Houston, Austin and ending in San Diego on April 16. More dates are expected to be announced along the way. Click here to buy tickets.
Earlier this year, Cam revealed the group had inked a deal with Interscope, making the prospect of a new album from the group sound promising. In the meantime, Jones is preparing to release his fifth solo album, 'Capo,' on April 5.
