Chris Brown and Rihanna Dance Off Months of Courtroom Drama
Chris Brown reacted to his sentence for assaulting former flame Rihanna in a surprising manner; he showed up at a popular Los Angeles hot spot Tuesday night and danced. Earlier that day the 'Kiss Kiss' singer was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service after pleading guilty to one count of felony assault. He was also given a year's worth of anger management courses. Rihanna also let loose on the dance floor, but on the other coast.
Brown responded by appearing at the West Hollywood club Guys & Dolls, where he performed an impromptu dance number to Michael Jackson's 'Dirty Diana.' "Everyone went wild when he let loose and danced," said one club goer. "You would have never known he spent his day in court."
The celebration almost violated his probation, which stipulates Brown "abstain from the use of all alcoholic beverages and stay out of places where they are the chief item of sale." While alcohol is predominant at Guys & Dolls, the club also sells food. According to TMZ, the judge did not mention the probation in her sentencing, giving Brown some leeway.
That same evening, joined by Serena Williams, Queen Latifah and Paula Patton Rihanna partied off months of courtroom drama at the eco-friendly hotspot Greenhouse in New York City. "Rihanna was dancing all night," the New York Daily News reported. "Chris looked like the furthest thing from her mind."
While it was revealed in court that Brown and Rihanna had two previous episodes of domestic violence, Rihanna still requested that the five-year restraining order against Brown be removed. The judge refused, maintaining in the sentencing that Brown must remain a 100 yards away from his ex at all times, except at public events, where Brown must keep a distance of 10 yards.
