Chance the Rapper Stands With Mo’Nique Amid Netflix Controversy
Chance the Rapper is supporting Mo’Nique in her protest against Netflix for their alleged racial and gender bias against her during negotiations for a comedy special.
The Oscar-winning actress has been doing several interviews accusing the streaming network of giving her an unrealistically low payday for a comedy special. She also urged fans to boycott Netflix for racial and gender bias.
Since then, Mo’Nique received "Donkey of the Day" by The Breakfast Club co-host Charlamagne Tha God, much the the comedian’s chagrin.
Last week, Mo’Nique appeared on The Breakfast Club to address her issues with Netflix and Charlamagne giving her Donkey of the Day. Afterward, the 50-year-old entertainer compared Charlamagne to the Birth of a Nation slave.
On Saturday (Feb. 25), Chano went on his Twitter to stand with Mo'Nique. The Chicago rapper also reminded his followers about her 2007 comedy special I Coulda Been Your Cellmate, where she performed at a women’s correctional facility in Ohio.
Finally, Chance posted a message that we think everyone should agree. "Black women, you deserve better," he tweeted.
