Bun B Addresses Rumor He’s Running for Houston Mayor

Despite being a professor at Rice University and the "King of the Trill," there's one title that Bun B has no interest in: mayor. The rapper spoke to MSNBC's Tamron Hall and shot down rumors that he's running for office in Houston for the 2015 election.

"It's just not practical. I haven't had any real experience in the political world," he said. The legendary UGK member has become an outspoken representative for Houston and the city even declared Aug. 30 as "Bun B Day."

Still, Bun feels that he should start from the bottom if he ever did run. "[If] I were to look to run for mayor, I would probably start somewhere in city council and get the feel of local politics; get my hands dirty so to speak -- not dirty though, but get my feet in the water," he explained.
