Liquor store blues didn't plague Bruno Mars this weekend, as the soulful crooner, alongside Rev. Run, welcomed 2011 in the heart of New York City. The 'Doo Wops & Hooligans' creator counted down to the new year in an intimate setting at R Lounge, inside the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel.

While Rev. Run served as the evening's DJ, the seven-time Grammy nominated Mars performed for fans against a back drop of the glittering New Year's Eve ball. Settling in to his set, Bruno kicked off the event around 10:30PM, charging up the spirit of those in the room before midnight hit.

Bruno, who currently sits at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 with 'Grenade,' played the stellar tune, along with other album cuts and cover songs. He crooned through 'Billionaire,' 'Just the Way You Are,' 'The Lazy Song' and 'Marry You.' Then the pompadour-wearing singer kicked it up a notch as he segued into Bell Biv Devoe's 'Poison,' Sir Mix-A-Lot's 'Baby Got Back,' as well as a mash-up of Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' and Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit.'

One of the highlights came when Rev. Run, dressed in his signature Adidas attire, and Bruno walked to a massive window overlooking Times Square and pointed out two unsuspecting spectators in the crowd, welcoming them to come up and join the duo's hotel extravaganza.
