Rapper B.G., a founding member of Cash Money’s Hot Boys, has been in prison since 2012, but it looks like he could be released this year.

In an interview with DJ Smallz, B.G.’s son T.Y. says that his father’s sentence has been reduced and he could be out of prison this year or in 2018. “His time was shortened,” he said. “He’s coming home like within probably this year. If not this year, next year for sure, but we shooting for this year, you feel me?”

B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2012 on gun charges and witness tampering. Since then he has been shuffling from different prisons, which made correspondences with his son very difficult. “When he was in Pennsylvania, that was like the worst jail," said T.Y. “Since he got out that motherf---er everything’s been a lot better. During that time it was rough on him, but he’s doing good now.”

T.Y. is following in his father's footsteps. The young rapper is a signed artist to fellow New Orleans rhymer Curren$y's label.

If B.G. does get released in prison, hopefully, a Hot Boys reunion will come to fruition. Watch T.Y.'s interview above.
