Arizona Judge Issues Warrant for DMX’s Arrest
DMX has gone missing yet again. An Arizona judge issued an arrest warrant for X, whose real name is Earl Simmons, when the rapper was a no-show for a court hearing related to drug and animal-cruelty charges. Judge Michael Kemp issued the warrant today (Dec. 5) and raised the bond on DMX to $120,000.
According to the rapper's attorney Charles Kozelka, X has been "in and out," but Judge Kemp did not accept that as a reasonable excuse for the rapper's absence. "I haven't confirmed it but he's allegedly in rehab, allegedly he's been in there since December 1, so take that for what it's worth," attorney Bradford Cohen told XXLMag.com. "I haven't spoken to anyone from the rehab [facility]."
Simmons faces 11 counts for charges including narcotic drugs, marijuana, two counts of drug paraphernalia and seven counts of animal cruelty.
