Alicia Keys Honored With New Website on 30th Birthday
Alicia Keys turns 30 today and the singer's fans have banded together to put together a website in honor of her birthday. The site, HappyBirthdayAlicia.Tumblr.com features photos of the multiple Grammy winner, along with tons of birthday wishes from all over the globe. Moved by their sentiments, Keys took to her Twitter page to express thanks. "OMG! I'm over here crying from this beautiful & thoughtful site u guys did 4 me!she wrote Tuesday (Jan. 25). "U mean so much 2 me!"
The global effort includes video messages and personal entries in which fans broke down just how much the singer's music has touched their lives. "I often wonder if you know how much of an impact you've had on my life," read one post. "It may sound weird but I still remember the day I fell in love with your music. Although I had heard the song and saw the video many times before, something just clicked one summer night when I found myself wrapped up in the Fallini video. All I could think is I really love this song, who is this girl?
"I've read your [diaries], blogs, tweets, books, participated in your chats, book clubs, fan/fam club, watched your performances, speeches, DVDs, concerts, admired and supported your work with KCA and jammed to your sweet music for 10 years now and you still never cease to amaze me."
These days Keys' personal and professional life continues to flourish. In a career spanning over 10 years, the New York City native has sold over 25 million albums worldwide and amassed a host of awards. The singer welcomed her first son, Egypt Daoud Dean, in October of last year, and married longtime beau, Swizz Beatz in a private ceremony last summer.
