Alicia Keys is slated to perform "Girl on Fire," the first single from her new album of the same name at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards this Thursday (Sept. 6). During the show, she may very well bring out Nicki Minaj, who appears on the remix to the song.

The Young Money rapper serves her guest verse at the beginning of the "Girl on Fire (Inferno Remix)" and name-checks both Marilyn Monroe and Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas. Minaj also delivers a second, searing verse toward the end of the track, book-ending the song with ferocity.

The Grammy Award-winning R&B songstress revealed via Twitter that her new song was so hot she decided to do several remixes. The "Inferno" version featuring Minaj is quick-paced with big heavy drums while the "Blue Light" version has completely re-sung lyrics and a lulling beat crafted by Jeff Bhasker and Salaam Remi.

Many are speculating that the "Inferno" remix will be the one that Keys performs Thursday. Tune in to see if the rap star joins Keys for the first live performance of the song.
