The Michael Rapaport-directed documentary, 'Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest,' finally has an official trailer. The two-minute clip debuted on Yahoo! Movies yesterday with an introduction by Rapaport.

Despite some turbulent issues between the director and members of A Tribe Called Quest -- there were problems surrounding final edits and producer credits -- the film has been critically acclaimed since debuting at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Friction between Rapaport and ATCQ first came to light when a trailer titled 'Beats, Rhymes & Fights' leaked, causing Q-Tip to initially say he was not in support of the film. Despite the hiccups, the seminal hip-hop group still encourages fans to go out and see the movie.

Besides ATCQ members Q-Tip, Phife, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, the official trailer also features Common, Questlove, Pharrell Williams, the Beastie Boys and others speaking on the Queens crew's influence on their careers. "Nothing was touching Tribe, nothing," said Pharrell, before eventually adding, "Q-Tip just picks the best loops man. Myself, Kanye, we wouldn't be here man if it wasn't for Tribe albums."

'Beat, Rhymes & Life' was picked up by Sony Pictures Classic for distribution and will be released in New York City and Los Angeles theaters on July 8. The movie will then continue on a limited nationwide run starting July 22.

On the performance front, Q-Tip will be headlining the Brooklyn Music Hip-Hop Festival in July.
