It’s that time of the year when the tricks and treats come out to play. Most rappers and R&B stars already have alter egos and are no strangers to putting on costumes to play the part. They get to play dress-up with every tour costume, red carpet event or photoshoot they take part in. But on Halloween, rappers and singers alike get to go all out and embrace an entirely new image and showcase just how creative they really are. Over the years, we have seen some killer Halloween costumes from artists who aren't afraid to step outside of the box.

Diddy was feeling holy in 2008, when he dressed up as the Pope for Halloween and came through the club with a matching red robe and hat. Meanwhile, other music stars opt for emulating their musical inspirations. In 2011, Kanye West donned a hat and wig and his best "Thriller" jacket as he channeled the late great Michael Jackson. Even Beyonce and Jay Z’s daughter Blue Ivy loves MJ. A year ago, she was the most adorable King of Pop, wearing a red and gold sequin jacket, with shiny socks and gloves to match. Beyonce was also a Jackson as well, dessed to the nines as Janet Jackson from her “Rhythm Nation” video.

In the spirit of Halloween, we decided to help 20 artists come up with costumes we think would suit them well. Sometimes artists try too hard thinking about their extravagant looks. While we loved Fabulous as the Joker from Batman in 2010, we have suggestions that require less makeup and more humor. From Meek Mill to K. Michelle and more, check out 20 Rappers and Singers' Costumes We Need to See on Halloween.
