Yung Mazi Shot to Death in Atlanta
According to 11 Alive News, rapper Yung Mazi, real name Jabril A, was shot to death on Sunday night in Atlanta's Kirkwood community.
Police responded to the shooting around 8:55 p.m., where they found the victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Young Mazi appears to have been targeted in the shooting, which occurred in front of a pizza restaurant, Urban Pie.
Known for his collaborations with Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan, Mazi escaped a near-death shooting back in late December 2016 at a Buckhead Waffle House. He was shot three times in that incident and disclosed to police that he was shot 10 times prior to that shooting. In an interview with DJ Small Eyes, he even explained why he believed he kept being targeted for shootings.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, police are still looking for the suspect. Police say the shooter has locs and was wearing them pulled back and possibly up in a bun, and was wearing a white T-shirt with dark jeans at the time of the deadly shooting.
Since news of Mazi's death broke, there has been an outpouring of condolences for his loss, including Rich Homie Quan, who wrote, "Rest easy Mazi."
