Young Jeezy Pays Tribute to Trayvon Martin on ‘It’s a Cold World’
Yesterday, George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. While Zimmerman walked out of court a free man, the world erupted in anger, sadness and a burning sense of injustice. Many took to Twitter to vent their pain, and others, including Young Jeezy, took to wax.
Late last night, The Snowman released 'It's a Cold World' not only as a tribute to young Trayvon, but to all the black youth slain everyday across America: "Losing homies everyday, I'm like, Please somebody help." Jeezy insists this track isn't an attempt to capitalize off the attention surrounding the trial, however.
I am in no way shape, form, or fashion am trying to capitalize off of the latest series of events. These are my true feelings and my form of expression about it.
