Sugar Hill Gang

The New York Knicks will add a touch of hip-hop history to their upcoming game at Madison Square Garden this Saturday (Feb. 27), commissioning Sugar Hill Gang members Wonder Mike and Master Gee for a halftime performance. The hip-hop legends will take the stage at New York City's biggest arena as the Knicks host the Memphis Grizzlies.

Although there is no word yet on what songs two will perform, Wonder Mike and Master Gee are currently promoting their upcoming release tentatively titled 'Hip-Hop 360: The Rebirth.' The album's lead single 'LaLa Song' reached No. 4 on Billboard's Global Dance charts and will officially be released in the States sometime this year. This year is gearing up to be a busy one for the New Jersey born emcees as they will head out on a European tour to promote the album and celebrate the 30th anniversary of their mega-hit 'Rapper's Delight' at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Released in 1979, the single 'Rapper's Delight' became the first hip-hop single to go gold and is noted for introducing the genre to the mainstream.

The Knicks vs. Grizzlies game airs Saturday at 7:30PM ET.
