As we close out 2014, rapper Skillz returns to give his rundown of news events that shaped our lives this year. In a span of five minutes, the Virginia native brilliantly gives us the highs and lows in pop culture with the ‘2014 Rap Up.’

Skillz kicks it off with congratulating Lupita Nyong’o on her Oscar win then segues into the Donald Sterling controversy. The rapper mentions Kanye West’s marriage to Kim Kardashian and the infamous elevator fight between Jay Z and Solange.

“Jay and Beyonce leaving the club / Then Solange in the elevator swinging for blood / Kicking Jay with the quickness / I’m just sippin’ tea watching, like, mmm, this is none of my business,” he raps

Skillz also tackled celebrity breakups including Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. The rapper also talk about the protests against police violence stemming from the grand jury non-indictments in both the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases.

“Unity, that’s what we need,” he raps. “If we all human beings / Then we are all the same / This is our country, man, something gotta change.”

Other news events like the Bill Cosby scandal, Derek Jeter's retirement, the ice bucket challenge, Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda,’ LeBron James return to Cleveland and same-sex marriage are also mentioned.

"A lot of rappers bite / But my rap-up, that’s the only one they like,” Skillz recites lifting a line from Rae Sremmurd's 'No Type,' which was a hit song this year.

The ‘2014 Rap Up’ will appear on Skillz’s collaborative project with producer Bink! called 'Made in Virginia,' which drops on New Year’s Eve.

Now that’s a rap.
