Rich Homie Quan Serenades His Lover on ‘The World’ Featuring Bobby V
Rapper Rich Homie Quan is known for club bangers like “Type of Way” and “Flex (Oh, Oh, Oh),” but he hasn’t forgotten his female fan base. The Atlanta rhymer just released the slinky rap ballad “The World” that is strictly for the lovers.
Over a plodding, trap-inspired beat, which is reminiscent of Jodeci’s “Cry For You,” Quan shows off his romantic side as he promises the world to his future boo.
“You can have a new car, if you want / And you can have a new house, if you want / And you can use some new money if you want / Them broke n----s laughing all funny, funny,” he raps.
R&B crooner Bobby V adds his falsetto riffs to the chorus singing, “You can have the world / You can have the stars / You can have the moon / You can have whatever I got, it’s your too.”
Granted, the simping on this ballad is on fleek, but the R&B-esque groove and the duo’s tender lyrics will certainly get the ladies in the mood on a romantic summer night.
There’s no word on where the song will end up. Quan is currently working on his major label debut album. “On my album, you'll hear me spit a lot of pain, you're gonna hear it. You're gonna hear a lot of music from the soul,” he told Fader. “Going for, not like a different sound, but you're gonna hear it. You're definitely gonna hear the pain.”
Quan also reveals that he's close to signing with 300 Entertainment but “All the Ts haven't been crossed, all the Is haven't been dotted.” In the meantime, he’s going to stay independent. “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it,” he said.
