Emmy award winning actress Regina King is teaming up with legendary Brooklyn native Dana Dane to turn his 1987 hit "Cinderfella Dana Dane" into a film.

According to TMZ, the script is already done and they are looking for actors. There's talk that Ice Cube might be added to the project. "Cinderfella Dana Dane" was featured on Dana Dane's debut album, Dana Dane With Fame, and went on to be one of his biggest hits.

Dane took the famous Cinderella story and flipped it— in his song the story takes place in the hood, and instead of Cinderella he created Cinderfella.

"Once upon a time, Brooklyn was the scene in the project that they called Fort Greene/ There lived a young man, Cinderfella's his name, to make it interesting it's me/ Dana Dane/
I lived in a house with my cruel step-dad/ and two step-brothers who treated me bad/
I cooked, I cleaned, I scrubbed the floors/and I was like an errand boy runnin' to the stores," he raps on the classic.

Dane replaced the fairy godmother, and added a fairy godfather named Hurb. Years later, Snoop Dogg covered the track and titled it "Snoopafella."

There has been no date released for when the film will start production. Listen to Dana Dane's classic below.
