Lauryn Hill made fans angry when she showed up two hours late for her concert at the Chastain Park Amphitheater in Atlanta on Friday (May 6). Frustrated concertgoers went on social media to voice their displeasure of the rapper’s tardiness. Even Questlove had to write a post about artists being late to their shows.

According to reports, L-Boogie was so late that she only had time to perform for 40 minutes because of the venue’s 11PM curfew. Ms. Hill blamed the driver for her tardiness but that didn't seemed to appease the crowd who was there to see her perform.

Even Questlove, who wasn't at the show, addressed the issue of L-Boogie being late on his Facebook page (via Okayplayer), which has since been deleted. In his missive, the Roots drummer said artists' being tardy for a concert is uncalled for.

"[Artists] HAVE to think like a businessman in order to please the fan," he wrote. "Every aspect from walk in music to the pacing of the show has to be combed over."

"4 hours on their feet is inconsiderate and uncalled for," he added.

On Saturday (May 8), in response to the overwhelming backlash, Ms. Hill went on her Facebook page to explain that it wasn't her fault that she was late for her concert.

"I don't show up late to shows because I don't care," she wrote. "The challenge is aligning my energy with the time, taking something that isn't easily classified or contained, and trying to make it available for others. I don't have an on/off switch. I am at my best when I am open, rested, sensitive and liberated to express myself as truthfully as possible."

Ms. Hill added that she has "perfectionist tendencies" and sometimes it's a challenge to create spontaneity in a contained environment.

In the end, the ex-Fugees member apologized to her fans and plans to make it up to thos who were left waiting.

"I have nothing but Love and appreciation for the fans in Atlanta, and regret not being able to give you a full show," she wrote. "We are figuring out a plan to make it up to you, and will announce details as soon as we have them."
