Nike has been hinting at auto-lacing sneakers for a pretty long time now and it appears that they are finally done teasing us with the technology. The news that Nike is finally employing this technology isn’t nearly as shocking as the new model that they are trotting out with it.

We all were thinking the Nike Air Mag would be the first sneaker to officially release with power laces, however, the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 and it’s ‘adaptive lacing’ system made it’s debut yesterday. The sole of the sneaker houses a sensor that is activated by the athlete’s foot and can be adjusted with two buttons on the side of the shoe. The sneakers aren’t that bad to look at, either; with the glowing lacing mechanism tucked away beneath a simple yet stylish flyknit upper.

The monumental Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is set for a very fitting holiday release to Nike+ members only. If you’re interested we suggest you download the app and sign up today.
