It looks as though Nas is ready to put his recent marital/legal/financial woes behind him. Back in February, the Queensbridge-bred rapper was slapped with a criminal contempt charge for unpaid child and spousal support in connection to his pending divorce battle with Kelis.

According to a statement released this morning (Wednesday, April 14), the contempt charge was thrown out and Nas is reportedly all caught up on his child and spousal support payments. Earlier this week, news of the large sum of money -- $299,015.50 to be exact -- Nas shelled out to Kelis hit the Net. While the blogosphere continues to buzz about the hefty settlement Nas is ready to move on. "All I want to do is make music and raise my kids," Nas said in a statement. "Nothing else matters."

On a brighter note, 'Distant Relatives,' the rapper's collaborative album with Damien Marley, is due on May 18. Marley and Nas will also kick off a tour in support of the project, beginning with an appearance at West Palm Beach, Florida's Sun Fest on May 2.
