Mike Epps Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting a Man Inside a Casino
Mike Epps spent some time behind bars, after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a man in a New Orleans casino.
As The Advocate reports, the 46-year-old actor/comedian and his friend Thomas Cobb was accused of repeatedly punching a man during All-Star weekend. According to the alleged victim, he saw Epps in the wee hours of the morning, right before he cashed out his winnings and that's when things went awry.
"We kind of met right there in the middle, and I recognized him. I said 'Oh, Mike Epps,'" the man explained. "The next thing I know, he started hitting me in the face unprovoked. I had a handful of chips, so I just basically bent down to protect myself, and then my friends ran over and got in front of me and then security got there."
After about three hours or so, police arrived, but Epps and his party had already left. Later on, however, they were arrested, charged, booked and released on $1,000 bail each.
"My face is still swollen right now, and it was blackened shut," the man said. "It's a relief, because I thought he got away."
At this time, neither Epps, Cobbs or their attorneys have commented on the alleged assault, and there's no word yet when the two men will appear in court.
