Controversial artist M.I.A. visited 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' Thursday night (Nov. 7) to promote her new album 'Matangi.' The Sri Lankan rapper performed 'Come Walk With Me' with the Roots.

The performance was extra special because this was the first time M.I.A. has ever performed with a band in the U.S. Of course, this isn’t just some ordinary band backing her up -- it’s the Almighty Roots Crew.

Dressed in printed leggings, a big sweater and a gaudy baseball cap with elephant designs, she. performed the anthemic song with her background singers.

In addition to her performance, M.I.A. sat down with Fallon and recalled her most embarrassing moment involving the Roots. Her story involved Japan, a noisy club and a very clear glass wall. Watch the video below.

Meanwhile, you can also catch the entertainer doing her late-night promo run next week. She will perform on 'Conan' and 'The Colbert Report' on Nov. 13 and 20, respectively.
