EXCLUSIVE: Mateo Talks Covering Drake’s ‘Hold On We’re Going Home,’ Coldplay’s Inspiration
Mateo has no problem giving props where they're due, especially when it comes to a song he wishes he wrote.
Before the 'How Good Is Your Love' singer delivered an intimate performance during a session with The Boombox and McDonald’s Live Bytes at MSR Studios in New York City, he sat down to reflect on some of his personal music moments including creating a unique cover of Drake's 'Hold On We're Going Home.'
"I was so upset when I heard the song 'cause I really wish I had made that song," the 27-year-old tells The Boombox. As a result, Mateo went on to record a cover of the track, kitchen appliances included.
Watch Mateo detail the experience, touch on Coldplay's inspiration and more in the exclusive video above.
