Mary J. Blige Owes $6.5 Million in Back Taxes
According to financial documents filed earlier this month in the midst of her divorce to Kendu Isaacs, Mary J. Blige owes $6.5 million in back taxes to the IRS.
The income and expense declaration was filed on August 8 in a Los Angeles court and not only shows her earnings but that she owes millions in back taxes, between the years 2008-2016.
According to the documents, Blige makes $326,930 a month and has been temporarily ordered to pay Isaacs $30,000 a month in spousal support—he asked for $130,000 and proceedings are ongoing.
In more positive news for the singer, she was recently given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in June. She's currently wrapping up her Strength of a Woman tour, which closes on Sept. 9 in San Francisco.
