M.I.A. Leaves Roc Nation

As we head into 2014, M.I.A. is cleaning house. The singer announced that she's parting ways with Roc Nation management today.

"2013 i dlted old tweet to bring u this. im leaving @RocNation . Thank to everyone who supported the M.I.A #MATANGI LP. HAPPY NEW YEAR | 2014," she shared via Twitter. The elusive artist added, "Trynu hit 2014 tweets by 2014 then I'm gonna tweet once a year."

M.I.A. signed to Jay Z's management firm in 2012. Earlier this year, there were reports that she was at odds with the management company and was threatening to go to crowd-sourced funding like Kickstarter to support her recent 'Matangi' album. "im gonna need @kickstarter and my fans to help make this exsist , ive been black listed through normal channels !!!!!!!" she claimed about a teaser video that Roc Nation would not release.

Other artists repped by Roc Nation include J. Cole, Rihanna and of course, Jay Z.
