Vince Staples has released his new album Big Fish Theory. The album comes two years after his debut Summertime ’06. It follows the release of his 2016 EP, Prima Donna.

The 12-track album features Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, Juicy J and more. In an April interview with Complex, Staples revealed the meaning behind the album’s title.

“It encompasses things: Being larger than life in a smaller world, so to say. How rappers are perceived and perceive themselves,” he said, adding that the recoding process was cathartic in many ways. “I don’t think this album was a learning process itself as far as the creation of it. "I just think it was a culmination of things I had been learning over the past few years, and coming to an understanding. Often times, music becomes a coping mechanism for people.”
