Sneakers produced in collaboration with films isn’t a new concept at all but Nike has found a way to separate themselves from the pack once again. To coincide with the film Kubo and the Two Strings they’ve let Tinker Hatfield loose on an the Air Jordan 15 and he’s turned into a model like nothing you’ve ever seen before.

The Air Jordan 15 is the least well-received model (Tinker’s words, not ours) and he leapt at the chance to redesign it in promotion of the film. The pair he turned in is a dark mismatched model that plays off of the film’s theme of good and evil and does it very effectively. Aside from the clashing colors the differences are pretty subtle as one heel features pony hair and the other gets a black leather heel panel.

Exact production numbers for this release are currently unavailable but they will release via a Complex giveaway, an interactive event that Kernel ticket buyers eligible for and as a reward for the top players on a game at the Kubo website. How’s that for a rollout plan?
