Killer Mike Writes Open Letter After Death of Missouri Teen Michael Brown

The death of Michael Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old who was shot by a police officer in Ferguson, Mo., has created outrage, frustration and uproar in St. Louis and America at large.

The shooting has raised many questions about what really happened during the Aug. 9 shooting. The Ferguson police department have their own account while an eyewitness details a chilling story of what occurred.

In the end, a police officer shot an unarmed young man way before his prime.

Rapper Killer Mike wrote a heartfelt letter in the wake of Brown's death, which her shared on his Instagram page. In the missive, he asks for peace and calm in the wake of a terrible tragedy.

"We are human beings. We deserve to be buried by [our] children not the other way around," he writes. "No matter how u felt about black people look at this Mother and look at this father and tell me as a human being how u cannot feel empathy for them."

"These are not "THOTS, n----s/n-----s, hoes, Ballers, Divas. These two people are parents," he continued. "They are humans that produced a child and loved that child and that child was slaughtered like Game and left face down as public spectacle while his blood drained down the street."

The Atlanta rapper also demands that those around him look past race.

"I don't care if others rioted or why. I don't care that ball players and Rappers are what they shud be. I care that we as humans care as much about one another more," he shares. "I care we see past Class, race and culture and honor the humanity that unites our species."
