Jennifer Lopez Will Bring ‘Love?’ to ‘American Idol’ Crowd
This season, Jennifer Lopez has been verbally critiquing 'American Idol' contestants on their performances, but Thursday night (May 5), she's going to give them a physical lesson on how to be a superstar.
Lopez will move away from the judges table and hit the stage for a special performance to promote the release of her latest album 'Love?,' which was released earlier this week. "You can expect some fun," she told MTV of the performance. "I don't want to give away too much. But you know we're gonna go out there, we're gonna do our thing. It's going to be a lot of fun. I don't even want to tell you what song we're doing, I just want you to watch."
The 41-year-old has shown the world her softer side during Idols 10th season, often being very compassionate with the contestants who have done everything from praise her guidance to kiss her during a performance. Nearly four months into the competition the Bronx native has yet to decide on a frontrunner, stating that the remaining four contestants all have a shot at winning.
"I'm not making any predictions, but I think what would be exciting is maybe a James Durbin/ Haley [Reinhart] sing-off could be pretty exciting," Lopex said. "Then I think it could be good having Scotty [McCreery] and Lauren [Alaina], the two country kids battling it out too, so I don't know.
"I've said this from the beginning: It's anybody's game. And I really still feel that way," she says. "I think the voting's pretty close, and it could be anybody. It really is in America's hands. I am just a spectator."
Lopez has yet to sign on for a second season but is prepping her own singing competition with husband Mark Anthony. 'Que Viva,' which re-teams the singer with 'Idol 'producer, Simon Fuller, will focus on finding talented musicians in Latin America.
'American Idol' airs tonight at 8:00PM EST on Fox.
