Twista is one of the fastest lyricists in the rap game and he is celebrating his birthday today. The Chicago rhymer turns 42 years old (Nov. 27).

Before becoming widely known, Twista made the Guinness World Records in 1992 for spitting 598 syllables in 55 seconds. But it wasn't until 2003 when he was able to turn his freakish ability into hit song. He linked up with Kanye West and Jamie Foxx for the College Dropout classic "Slow Jamz." As a solo artist, he had violinist Miri Ben-Ari backing up his flows on "Overnight Celebrity."

Twists, whose real name is Carl Terrell Mitchell, would low-key become a reliable featured player throughout the decade. He made rap cameos on such bangers like Memphis Bleek's "Is That Your Chick (Remix)" featuring Jay Z and Missy Elliott, and Usher's "Confessions Part II (Remix)."

Twista hasn't been making that many hits these days, but he's still releasing projects. His latest, Dark Horse (no relation to the Katy Perry song), dropped in August 2014.
