Ginuwine ‘Pissed Off’ With Timbaland

There's no denying that Timbaland reigned supreme in the mid-90s with his all-star crew of hip-hop artists -- Missy Elliott, the late Aaliyah and R&B crooner Ginuwine -- but things have changed considerably since then. In an interview with Vibe.com this week, Ginuwine opened up about his tarnished relationship with Timb.

The R&B singer revealed that he was never given a solid reason for the severed ties between the two. "Me and Tim were real close at one point. A lot of the times that I reached out, there were a bunch of excuses," Ginuwine explained. "I begged and pleaded with him because I felt a certain way but I was like, is it just a bad vibe that I'm picking up on? Maybe I'm bugging out, I don't know. But it came out to be true and I still feel like he owes me an apology for that."

Ginuwine, who scored monster hits with Timb, including his 1996 single 'Pony,' explained that their working relationship ended with his 2009 album, 'A Man's Thoughts.' According to Ginuwine, Timbaland produced one track on the album, but never followed through to help him promote it. "The reason I'm pissed off at him now is because of what he did. I would've been cool and not bothered him if he would've said, 'Nah, I'm too busy,' or gave me the lame excuse like he's been giving me," he said. "But don't do it and then not do what you're supposed to do [to promote the song]."

Despite the bad blood between the two, however, Ginuwine says that he will still offers his support to Timbaland in Vibe's search for the 'Greatest Hip-Hop Producer of All Time.' "He really hasn't been interested in working with me, so I can't speak on the present," Ginuwine said. "But back in the days, it spoke for itself as far as him being the most sought after producer. Music was boring until he came out with that new sound."

Ginuwine's seventh studio album 'Elgin' is slated for a summer release.
