It’s awards season time! Nominations for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards were announced during a live telecast at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California on Monday (Dec. 11).

As expected, Get Out received a nod in the Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy category, much to the chagrin of fans and critics alike, who wondered how the film could be considered a comedy, given the gravity of its premise.

Nevertheless, the movie also garnered another mention in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy category for Daniel Kaluuya.

Elsewhere, Mary J. Blige received her first Golden Globe nod for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Mudbound. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is also nominated in the Best Original Song category for the empowering song, "Mighty River."

Meanwhile, Denzel Washington received a Best Actor nod for his work in Roman J. Israel, Esq.

In the television field, Issa Rae received a Best Actress nomination for Insecure while Anthony Anderson garnered a Best Actor nod for his ABC hit sitcom, black-ish, which is also nominated for Best TV Series (Comedy) as well.

The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on Jan. 7 at 8PM ET on NBC.
