Looks like Eminem fans will get more than what they bargained for this year. The rapper has announced that he will drop two albums in 2009. The Detroit emcee will make his official comeback with the highly-anticipated 'Relapse,' which is due on May 19. According to a statement released today, Eminem is currently in the studio working on 'Relapse 2,' which is set to hit stores in the second half of the year.

"A lot of people were expecting 'Relapse' to drop last year," Eminem said in the press release. "I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out 'Relapse 2' will let everyone get all of the best stuff."

It's been more than four years since Eminem released his last solo project, 'Encore,' and the rap star, who was once a fixture on urban radio and 'Total Request Live,' has been a bit of a recluse in recent years. Em teased fans late last year with the freestyle dubbed 'I'm Having a Relapse' and 'Crack a Bottle,' the unofficial first single off 'Relapse,' created a huge buzz when it was leaked onto the 'net.

In addition to locking himself in the studio with friend and collaborator Dr. Dre, Em took a break to promote his autobiography, 'Eminem: The Way I Am.' The rapper's mother Debbie Nelson capitalized off her son's fame and released her tell-all 'My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem: Setting the Record Straight on My Life as Eminem's Mother.' Nelson's take on Em's life hit bookstores just two weeks after the rapper's autobiography was released.
