For years Paul Rosenberg has helped Eminem and the Shady Records imprint become one of hip-hop’s most popular labels and now, Rosenberg will be taking his talents to Def Jam.

According to a report from Variety, the co-founder of Shady Records is set to become Def Jam’s CEO in January 2018. Founded in 1983 by Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons, Def Jam has been the home to LL Cool J, the Beastie boys, Public Enemy, JAY-Z, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Big Sean and many more.

While Rosenberg waits for January to begin his new position, current Def Jam CEO Steve Bartels will continue to run the label although it’s unsure what role Bartels will have. As for Rosenberg, a source close to him told Variety, “He’s super smart and will steer the company in the right direction.”
